Noises Off is a glorious comic romp, which offers two plays for the price of one! Whilst the traditional British comedy Nothing on is being performed, a real life charade unfolds backstage during the shows final rehearsal and the ensuing disastrous tour. Watch as actors make their exits from one play, only to find themselves making entrances into the other- and back again!

Great Food Debate - Food Prices, Food Prices

Food prices are on the rise and everyone is starting to feel the difference. But have we been paying too little for too long, or should food remain inexpensive? What is the real price of food and who pays? Consumers are increasingly aware of food’s social and environmental impacts, but do rising prices make ethical choices a luxury? This year’s debate, part of the city&#39s Food & Drink festival programme, will explore the consequences of rising food prices. Speakers include Tim Lang, Professor of Food Policy at City University, and Carolyn Steel, author of Hungry City. The debate will be chaired by Simon Fanshawe. Tickets £3 on the door or free for members of the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership (membership forms will be available at the door). For more information please contact Ann Baldridge at the Food Partnership.

Alan Bennett’s rarely performed Enjoy shines a whole new light on Britain’s favourite playwright.

This comedy stars renowned actress Alison Steadman (Abigail’s Party, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice and, most recently, Gavin & Stacey)and David Troughton (starring roles with the RSC, Dr Who and A Very Peculiar Practice).

This is a delightful and unexpected side of Alan Bennett: gentle nostalgia and wicked satire in equal measure combine to make this an unmissable evening.
